How many years of childcare experience do you currently have?I have been caring for children professionally since 2005.
How did you get involved in child care and why are you interested au pairing/ babysitting?I am naturally a nurturing  and caring person and have always wanted to be a mother.I grew up in a big family (many younger nieces and nephews).  I started doing babysitting for extra money while studying.
What is the age of the youngest child you have cared for? The youngest child I have looked after was three months.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or other jobs?Photography, reading, hiking, nature, dogs, films, spending time with family and friends. i appreciate art and art- related activities.
What do you like most about childcare and being part of a childs life?Being a positive and healthy role-model and helping to shape their life. I am very interested in children's holistic development. I am passionate about human behaviour and like to interact with children via educational and creative play.
What kinds of activities do you enjoy doing with children?Holistic activities that develop skills such as... physical, socio -emotional, sensory, educational.
Explain what you would do in case of an emergency?Preform necessary CPR while phoning emergency services as well as contacting parents.
How do you handle a crying baby?Firstly check that the baby's primary physical needs are met. Nurture and sooth the baby by gently talking and singing and cuddling.

I will play sports and their favourite games with them outside. I will foster and nurture their unique interests and take them on educational outings.

Yes I am. I have experience as a teacher and with assisting with  children's home work.
Would you consider yourself to be organized and punctual?I am used to teach big groups of children and you have to have good organizational skills to cope with them. Punctuality is essential when working with children and to stick to a certain routine and time schedule makes them feel safe.

TV time should be minimal and should be allowed only at the end of the day after bath time. Educational age appropriate programs.

Children neeed interaction with other children to develop social skills.
What activities would you engage in with a child aged 0 to 2 years old?Sensory stimulation is very important. The development of fine and grose motor skills through age appropriate activities.
What do you see as your primary responsibility to a child aged 0 to 2 years old?To check that the child is safe and come to no harm.

How would you handle:

A two year old having a tantrum?A child that is having a temper tantrum has maybe got basic needs that has not been met. Make sure these needs are met and that they are safe. Stay calm and verbalize what they can not communicate.Distract the child with an exciting age appropriate activity.
A 5 year old drawing on a wall?See the positive in the situation. Recognize the need to be creative and give alternative materials to be creative with. explain why it is sometimes inappropriate to draw on certain surfaces.
An 8 year old refusing to do homework?Address basic and emotional needs before home work. Put a reward system in place for motivational purposes. 
Which age groups are you comfortable working with?From one up to eighteen. I have extensive experience with these age groups.

Limited TV. When Children watch TV it should only be educational programmes. I would only encourage TV at the end of the day after bath time.
What methods of limit setting or discipline do you find effective for children aged 3 to 5 years old?I like positive discipline where the children know where the boundries are and a connection is made to communicate right and wrong on the child's level.
What activities would you engage in with a child aged 0 to 2 years old?I will do a lot of sensory stimulation as that is how infants primarily learn about their environment.
