How did you get involved in child care and why are you interested au pairing/ babysitting?I was babysitting for family friends from young age, i love children and i have the energy, thrive for it. It´s also my pleasure to help families out.
What is the age of the youngest child you have cared for?3 months girl
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or other jobs?I do occasional babysitting for families. Like scrapbooking, and being out doors, play piano and baking.
What do you like most about childcare and being part of a childs life?To watch them grow and learn knowing that i have helped in the childs life. How each one reacts to things differently.
What kinds of activities do you enjoy doing with children?Projects (being creative), being out doors playing ball, riding bikes, walking, lego (building things), coloring in, hide and seek, puzzles, homework.
Explain what you would do in case of an emergency?I would assist the child first, making area safe, call for help, let parent know what happened.
What is the most difficult situation you have encountered while caring for a child? How did you handle it?Child threw a tantrum at siblings school, i stayed calm, went to him face to face telling him to stop and all is ok, then took him to care and waited the tantrum out til he finally stopped.
What is your approach to discipline?Calmly tell the child what he did wrong, if carries on after counting till 5, i send child to room. Most cases i ask parents what they want and i go from that.

How would you handle:

A two year old having a tantrum?Make sure that the child knows that i am not happy with his tantrum but listen to reason, send the child for time out.
A 5 year old drawing on a wall?Tell the child why it is wrong to draw on wall and give the child necessary discipline due to age etc., let the child help me clean it.
An 8 year old refusing to do homework?Tell the child why it is important to do homework and give child time to think about it and then try again to start homework, reward afterwards.
