How did you get involved in child care and why are you interested au pairing/ babysitting?I got involved in child care because of my mom and always being around children all the time. I am interested in au pairing and babysitting as I love children.
What is the age of the youngest child you have cared for?The youngest child I have cared for is a newborn (my God child).
What activities are you involved in?Activities I am involved in is studying - I am a full time student.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or other jobs?In my spare time I read, enjoy cooking, spend time with friends and watch movies.

What do you like most about childcare and being part of a childs life?What I like most about being apart of a child's life is the difference you can make in their lives.

Explain what you would do in case of an emergency?In an emergency I would first see if I can fix the situation myself, if not I would phone medical services and parents.
What is the most difficult situation you have encountered while caring for a child? How did you handle it?The most difficult situation I encountered was when a 3 year old boy who had AIDS fell off a jungle gym and was bleeding. I dealt with it but getting gloves, stopped the blood, then cleaned him up, and then the mom fetched him to take him to hospital.
What is your approach to discipline?My approach to discipline is time out and compromising with them.

How would you handle:

A two year old having a tantrum?If a 2 year old was throwing a tantrum, I would go down to their level and explain to them in a firm voice that's enough etc, if they carry on I would tell them I am taking them away until they calm down etc.
A 5 year old drawing on a wall?If a 5 year old was drawing on the wall, I would explain to them why it is wrong to draw on a wall and then I would get them to help me clean the wall. If they do it again, I would get them to clean the wall and sit in time out.
An 8 year old refusing to do homework?If an 8 year old was refusing to do their homework I would explain to them why its important to do their homework etc. I would then give them an incentive to work towards, such as when they are done they can watch TV.
Which age groups are you comfortable working with?I am comfortable working with children from newborn to 10 years old.
Do you still work for any of your previous clients? Which ones?Yes I still help out Kay occasionally with babysitting.
Do you have any children of your own? If so, how old are they?No I don't have any children of my own.
Please tell us a bit more about how you would describe yourself?I would describe myself as patient, compassionate, outgoing, friendly and playful person who is very creative.
