How did you get involved in child care and why are you interested au pairing/ babysitting?Through the first holiday club with youth leaders, I really enjoyed it from there and it just kept on.  
What is the age of the youngest child you have cared for?The youngest child I have cared for is 2 years old.
What activities are you involved in?UCT ballroom society, SAMSA and RSN.
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or other jobs?I enjoy cycling and being active.

What do you like most about childcare and being part of a childs life?Building a relationship with the child and making a difference in their lives.
What kinds of activities do you enjoy doing with children?Creative activities, scrap booking, playing outside with them, any fun activities. I enjoy baking with them as well.
Explain what you would do in case of an emergency?I would remain calm and evaluate the situation and ensure their safety and then call the emergency numbers then the parents.
What is the most difficult situation you have encountered while caring for a child? How did you handle it?I had to keep a child calm because she fell and hit her head open, we then took her to the hospital and then called the parents.
What is your approach to discipline?Positive reinforcement.  

How would you handle:

A two year old having a tantrum?I would calm them down, stay firm with them, distract them with something fun.  
A 5 year old drawing on a wall?I would not shout at them, I would stop them and explain what they are doing is wrong and get the child to clean up with me.
An 8 year old refusing to do homework?I would chat to them and encourage them to do their homework and explain the consequences afterwards if homework is not done.
Which age groups are you comfortable working with?I am comfortable working with children with children from 2 and up.
