Our minum requirements for au pairs and childcarers
- You need at least 1 years child care experience ( other than family) with contactable references.
- You need to have your own reliable child safe vehicle (i.e. seat belts all round) and a valid South African driving license.
- You need to have completed Matric or Gr.12 equivalent ( i.e. A-levels or technical Matric)
- We ask all candidates to complete a SETA approved first aid course. Its important that if you care enough to be part of a child's life, that you care enough to be able to save the child or children you care for in an emergency situation. If you have already completed a course, please send us a certified copy of your first aid certificate or if you have not yet completed a course, we highly recommend a registering for a course as soon as possible. Clients are more likely to reject your applications if you do not have first aid. The NFAA ( www.nfaa.co.za ) offers the best price on level 1 courses which are SETA approved and valid for 3 years.
- You must be in good health, be regularly physically active and enjoy being outdoors.
- It is important to have a friendly, outgoing, caring and patient personality
- You need to love being around children and enjoy doing creative activities with them.
- You need to be passionate about childcare, teaching children to become well adjusted, happy, positive members of society.
- You should have an appreciation assisting in the cognitive and behavioural development of the children you are privileged to spend time with.
