Our staff all subscribe to an extremely strict minimum mandate and we offer the most comprehensive babysitting service available, with almost all our Babysitters working as Au pairs by day. Our Babysitting club ensures you will never be short of a Babysitter again!
Club Babysitting service
Step 1: To become, and to enjoy babysitting membership for the first time with Sitters4U fill in the “sign up” form ( link) below at least 72 hours before you require a sitter.
Step 2: We will send confirmation of receipt of your members sign up form and confirmation of your booking via email with a link to the profile of the sitters who will be able to help you on the first occasion and on a regular basis.
Step 3: There after you will be able to book online by signing into the website using your email address and filling in a booking form at least 72 hours before you require the service.
Step 4: Attached to this mail will be a copy of your account for R200 joining fee and the cost of the club contract you have selected and no service will take place until such time as proof of payment has been received for this payment.
Step 5: After receipt of proof of payment you will be registered as a club member, you may confirm your first booking and choose whom you prefer from the candidate profiles sent to you.
- The babysitter must then be paid in cash at the rate provided in our rates table found in our “fees” section (members fees apply) below.
- Please note that if you require a babysitter on more than 10-12 occasions a month or during day light hours you may require an Au pair or other child care assistant.
What can our Baby Sitters do for you?
- Provide supervisory/custodial care of children typically on a part-time or an as-needed basis for evening and weekend babysitting.
- Most of the staff we provide have a tertiary education in child care or have at least completed a CPR or First Aid course.
- All of our sitters have their own transport and in a crisis situation will be able to respond effectively and quickly ensuring your children will reach either a doctor or hospital in rapid response time.
- Can communicate effectively with the parents.
What are our requirements for Babysitters
We like to look at applicants as a whole, relying not only on what they have done but who they are as people. In order for a Babysitter to be registered with us all candidates need to fulfill the following minimum Babysitting Mandate:
- Our Babysitters have at least 1 years child care experience as an au pair or babysitter with contactable references. ( most have three or more years experience)
- Our Babysitters have their own reliable child safe vehicle and a valid South African driving license.
- Our Babysitters must hold a valid first aid certificate or apply to do one with Sitters4U on application with us.
- Our Babysitters must have no criminal record and provide either a police clearance certificate or affidavit stating their criminal status on application with us.
- They must be in good health.
- Our Babysitters have a friendly, outgoing and caring personality.
- They are relatively active and enjoy being outdoors.
- Through their references and history we ensure that our Babysitters love being around children and enjoy doing creative activities with them.
- Our Babysitters are able to take the initiative in situations, from creating fun things to do, to handling an emergency situation.
- Most of our Babysitters are also Au pairs by day!
Frequently Asked Questions
If my babysitter is present for 2 hours and 30 minutes, do I pay less for the last hour?
- No. Fees are paid on an hourly basis, no concessions.
Who do I pay?
- Membership fees and Once off charge are paid to Sitters4U.
- Babysitting fees are paid in cash to the sitter directly on the day of performance.
How do cancellations work?
- A charge of R50 is due to be paid to Sitters4U directly if booking is not cancelled 48 hours in advance.
- No further bookings will be processed unless these fees are kept up to date.
Must I contact Sitters4U to make a booking or do I call the sitter directly?
- You must always contact Sitters4u before contacting any sitter. This is advisable as should your regular sitter not be available we are able to make temporary arrangements for another sitter as quickly as possible.
How do I make a booking after I am registered as a client?
- Bookings may be made by logging onto our website, signing in using your email address you will automatically be taken to the make a booking page.
Will I be able to get the same sitter every time?
- Although we try to ensure that you always receive the same sitter this is not always possible and are subject to availability.
Is there a minimum booking time?
- Yes, the minimum booking time is 3 hours.

Fees
Member ship fees are as follows:
- Registration: R200.
- R350 for a 3 month contract.
- R600 for a 6month contract.
- R1000 for an annual contract.
- Hourly rates listed below in the rates table are paid directly to the sitter in cash:

A toddler is defined as a child who is under the age of 3 or over this age, but still using diapers.
Double rates are charged on public holidays and from 6 pm the evening before a public holiday.
