Guidelines for House Sitting Applications

What does a house sitter or pet sitter do?
As a house sitter you may be expected to:
- live in or out of the clients home.
- care for the clients pets.
- maintain the clients garden.
- Maintain the clients pool.
- Ensure through your presence that the clients home and possessions are safe.
Follow this procedure to apply with Sitters4U:
Step 1: Check that you comply with our minimum requirements for listing
Do you comply with our Requirements:
- Are you over 23 years of age?
- Do you have at least five years of working experience and references ( Does not have to be house sitting related)?
- Do you have your own reliable vehicle and a valid South African driving license?
- Have you completed your Matric or Gr.12 equivalent?
- Is your criminal record clear(ie. no criminal record)?
- Are you in good health?
- Have you lived in the same home for over 2 years?
- Do you enjoy being around animals and have no allergies to pets?
Step 2: Send through your documentation
Please ensure you have as many of the following documents in an electronic format as possible, any outstanding documents will need to be brought with you to your interview:
- Your full CV
- A copy of your ID
- A copy of your Drivers License
- A copy of your Matric certificate
- A recent colour photo of yourself
- Your written references ( If you do not have these don't worry we check all of your references ourselves as well)
- Your police clearance certificate/affidavit from a police station stating your criminal status.
- Proof of address (Utility bill or letter from landlord with contact details attached).

Click the link in the heading above and complete your online application form.The online application form will eventually form part of both your profile displayed on the website and assists us in putting your full profile which will be viewed by our clients, so it is very important to take note of the following guidelines:
- This form can takes between 30 minutes and an hour to complete ( In the same way that any application form does)
- You must use full sentences, proper punctuation and appropriate capital letters when filling in your application form.
- Please ensure you have all of your documentation scanned into your PC to upload to the application form.
- Please try to answer all sections of the application as thoroughly as possible as it will lend towards a positive outcome and an interview.
