Read through the below information and click the link at the bottom of the page to fill in the online application form.

Salary Averages for Au pairs and Babysitters
- Salaries for half day positions generally run from R3000 to R6000, full day from R 6000 to R 9000 per month dependent on hours required, your experience and the number and age of the children.
- Hourly rates for babysitting range from R40 to R 65 per hour dependent on the age of children, number and area of the client.
Follow the step by step procedure outline below to apply with Sitters4U:
Step 1: Check that you comply with our minimum requirements for listing
Do you comply with our Requirements:
- Do you have at least 1 years child care experience with contactable references?
- Do you have your own reliable child safe vehicle (i.e. seat belts all round) and a valid South African driving license?
- Have you completed your Matric or Gr.12 equivalent?
- Do you hold a valid First Aid/CPR Certificate? If No please click here to take part in a course with Sitters4U in order to apply with us.
- Is your criminal record clear(ie. no criminal record)?
- Are you in good health?
- Do you have a friendly, outgoing and caring personality?
- Are you relatively active and enjoy being outdoors?
- Do you love being around children and enjoy doing creative activities with them?
If you answered no to any question except for question 4, please do not continue with your application as it will be rejected.
Step 2: Prepare to complete the online application form.
Please ensure you have as many of the following documents in an electronic format as possible, any outstanding documents will need to be brought with you to your interview:
- Your full CV
- A copy of your ID
- A copy of your Drivers License
- A copy of your Matric certificate
- A recent colour photo of yourself
- Your written references
- Your police clearance certificate/affidavit from a police station stating your criminal status
- Either a copy of your first aid certificate or proof of payment for the first aid course ( click here to find out more about these courses )
- Add your other valid child care certificates (want a basic child care course click here?)
- Proof of address ( Utility bill or letter from landlord with contact details attached)
Step 3: Complete your online application form by clicking here
Click the link in the heading above and complete your online application form.The online application form you fill in, will eventually form part of both your profile, displayed on the website and assists us in putting together your full profile which will be viewed by our clients, so it is very important to take note of the following guidelines:
- This form can takes between 30 minutes and an hour to complete ( In the same way that any application form does)
- You must use full sentences, proper punctuation and appropriate capital letters when filling in your application form.
- Please ensure you have all of your documentation scanned into your PC to upload to the application form.
- Please try to answer all sections of the application as thoroughly as possible as it will lend towards a positive outcome and an interview.

Step 4: Your Interview
You will receive an email within 48 hours from one of our friendly HR Managers stating if you have been accepted for an interview and when. (If you do not receive this email/call please call our office 087 808 5357).
What to expect in your interview:
Please note: We charge a R 150 administration fee on all interviews (this is not a listing fee and does not entitle you to listing).
- Ensure that you fulfill all of our requirements before filling in the application form.
- Ensure you bring all documentation required which you do not attach to your online application with you to your interview.
Where will the interview take place?
- If you are based in Cape Town you will be interviewed at 13 Grosvenor Rd, Diep River. Download a Map
- If you are based in Gauteng you will be interviewed at 152 Chapel Ave, 50 Kingsbridge Estate, Bryanston. Download a Map
Step 5: Reference checks
Once you have been interviewed, the references you have provide will be called and checked, should you comply with all other criteria, your interview goes well and your references provide a positive feedback, you are likely to be accepted for listing at which point you will immediately start receiving sms notifications on new positions available and you will be able to immediately start responding to available positions.
