Flexi and Fixed Term Contracts

Due to the recent global Covid-19 pandemic a notable need has arisen for access to interim relief services for families and additional management of in-home support providers. While long term placement, (whereby you as the client, becomes the direct employer of the professional contracted) has always been offered by Sitters4U and is by far the most affordable option for in-person service, long term placement carries a number of disadvantages and risks in the current climate which can be mitigated through the use of our flexi term contract service option. For example you could hire someone long term today, and tomorrow they could be exposed or diagnosed with Covid-19, leaving you and your family back at square 1.

Sitters4U offer flexi term contracts which are available on a month to month, 3 month, 6 month basis or fixed term contracts for up to 3 months of service.

We will proactively list and continuously recruit, on an ongoing basis, externally and internally for your particular needs. In the event of illness, Covid-infection or other issues, through this function we insure a pool of candidates able to deliver the services required available to replace as required. This service provides not only much needed support for families, but also for our team, particularly those who are inbetween roles, or seeking new long term roles, or who have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Advantages of Flexi Contracts

  • Sourcing and provision of professionally screened suitable candidates for short term service and often at short notice.
  • Pre-vetting and ensuring of pre-availability of suitable applicants for your requirements in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria on a continuous basis.
  • We are able to attract interest in roles with requirements that are normally not of interest to candidates seeking long term roles.
  • Recommendation Placement - Sitters4U is viewed as the employer and knowing our team and having first hand experience with candidates we will recommend the top option for your family.
  • We handle the contract, payments and manage any behaviour related issues that may arise.
  • Free replacements at any time on short term placements.
  • As per the BCEA anyone employing the same person for longer than 90 days is viewed as an employer and a person working more than 21 hours in a month for a particular client is viewed as an employee. Through our flexi-term services, you have no need to worry about these requirements. Sitters4U takes care of, and manages the employment relationship for short term roles.

Disadvantages of Flexi Term Contracts

  • Due to the nature of flexi contracts; and particularly in the case of roles requiring less than 15 hours of service a week, candidates will typically view these roles as 'stepping-stone' posts which; whether long-term or on flexi-term, tend to have a high turn over in staff.
  • Pricing is not negotiable and higher than  it is for long term placement as the agency takes on employer roles, duties and risks.

Flexi Contract Placement Process

Step 1: Register | Get a Quote

  • Click here to complete our quote request form.
  • Once you are happy to proceed pay your invoice to register the role on our network.
  • Once the registration fee is paid we will begin marketing the role internally and externally to attract suitable applications.

Step 2: Sourcing and Placement

  • As these roles carry an inherent high turnover rate in terms of staff and hence Sitters4U is responsible for selection, continued sourcing and replacements.
  • We assess the applications we receive in terms of your requirements and recommend the top person for your first trial week providing their profile for your review and approval.
  • Placement is deemed to have taken placement of the first candidate for trial.
  • The first month's service provider fees and placement fee is due prior to the initiation of service on confirmation of a service provider being confirmed for booking.
  • The first week of placement will be viewed as a trial for the candidate, if you are happy with the person recommended we the confirm the placement with that candidate. Thereafter 2 weeks notice may be given by either party in the first 6 months of an ongoing flexi contract
  • This carries the benefit though that, if you would then like a different candidate at any point we will provide alternative options for you to choose from, should such options be available and requirements for replacement (as per our disciplinary guidelines) are met or by mutual agreement between parties.
